Getting Started

Learn basic functions of an iPad and built-in apps. Get answers to popular questions: What is an Apple ID and why do I need it? How do I set up email accounts (Exchange, Yahoo, Gmail, etc.) What is iCloud?

Pages

Duration: 1 hour

Explore features of Pages and learn how to create documents, flyers, calendars, invitations, resumes, and more, using Apple-designed templates.

Numbers

Duration: 1 hour

Audience: Novice, Proficient

Explore features of Numbers and learn how to create dynamic workbooks with charts, tables, pictures, and more. Discuss differences between MS Excel on a computer and Numbers for the tablet.

Nearpod

Duration: 2 hours

Audience: Novice, Proficient, Advanced

Combine PowerPoint/Keynote presentations with interactive assessments of polls, multiple choice problems, open-ended questions, and drawings. Learn about student created Nearpods for assessment and flipped instruction. Laptops/computers are suggested to accompany this session to incorporate the web-based application for development and editing of a Nearpod.

Socrative

Duration: 2 hours

Audience: Novice, Proficient, Advanced

Increase student engagement through interactive, real-time assessments. Create class competitions with a space race or launch an exit slip to check for understanding and identify students’ self-assessment.

Explain Everything

Duration: 2 hours

Audience: Proficient, Advanced

Explain Everything is the perfect tool for screencasting with interactive whiteboard features. Create videos for a flipped classroom, encourage students to create videos and develop a digital library of course content, or use this app to create video tutorials to demonstrate a process or procedure.

Notability

Duration: 2 hours

Integrate handwriting, PDF annotation, typing, recording, and organizing notes all in one app. Students can use this app to create digital notes or class projects which can be saved to a cloud-based storage option. Teachers can pair this app with a mirroring solution and turn your iPad into a portable smartboard.

Prezi

Duration: 2 hours

Audience: Novice, Proficient, Advanced

Revolutionize your presentation with Prezi, the 3D, dynamic presentation tool with zooming capabilities, which may guide your audience through a spatial journey. This app is great for instruction or student created projects. Laptops/computers are suggested to accompany this session to incorporate the web-based application for development and editing of a Prezi.
