I’m 6 weeks into my 11 week Ecuadorian journey and I know the remaining time will go by too fast.
Cotacachi, Ecuador is tranquil. The mountains are beautiful, the people are kind, and although you can keep a very busy schedule, I still consider the area very low key. I love being relaxed, productive with work, yet still enjoy what the community has to offer. I have attended some single’s social events, a fundraiser for a young boy in need of surgery, bar trivia, weekly markets, jam sessions by local musicians, and I’ve been to adjacent towns for their big box stores.
Like to garden? I definitely don't have a green thumb but many people in Ecuador do. And it's safe to say I'm a bit obsessed with the beautiful flowers. They really do make me smile and they smell great!
In the next 5 weeks I plan to schedule some touristy type excursions. I’m looking into planning a day trip to the nearby hot springs with some friends and then a couple of days in Quito to explore the city and see what it has to offer.
For now, I’m going to sit back, smell the roses and enjoy the relaxing, tranquil, mountains of Cotacachi, Ecuador.
